Challenge

There are many lateral entrants and amateurs who design different products. Often the necessary training is lacking, which mostly affects the typographical appearance. Typography follows certain principles that specify which, when and how fonts are selected, changed and combined. In addition to correct use, visual diversity also plays an important role in making typography unique.

Solution

Our goal is to create an application that can be used by different target groups with similar needs. The tool should provide information to facilitate the correct use of typography and inspiration to show users how to apply typography in a variety of ways.

How might we encourage users
to explore and use new fonts?

Inspiration to break new ground

Especially young students and trainees, but also people who are not sure about the typographical rules tend to choose fonts they already use all the time. As typographic diversity is very important for design, InFont offers inspiration through projects. The calendar presents a font every day, while featured projects help to take away the user's hesitation to explore new possibilities.

Information for confident handling of fonts

Various tools help the user to find a suitable and appropriate font for his project, while detailed information on the use and backgrounds of the font convey typographic knowledge. Once the right font has been found, it can be tested in various ways and, if desired, saved or purchased.
